OPEN Families joins Walnut Creek Community Service Day

Sat., Oct. 13 – We had a GREAT time at the Walnut Creek Community Service Day helping the Contra Costa Food Bank. The Food Bank got a total of 5394 pounds of food donated on the service day!  We got to help sort all of this food and see the power of group work and community support~  Our Open kids were so excited that at the end of 1.5 hours of sorting food, a 13-year-old Open participant stated ‘Let’s do more OPEN work!”  So, we then did some impromptu random acts of kindness, leaving notes of joy and gift card in library books.  It was a fun day!
