Who is Urban Farmer: Urban Farmers is a grassroots, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in the East Bay of San Francisco. Their goal is to build a community-based, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable model of hunger relief.

What will we do?  Open participants picked about 500 pounds of fruit from the trees of our neighbors who had volunteered to donate their fruit to Urban Farmers.  We used our hands, sticks and ladders to get as many fruit as we can and then packed them into boxes. The boxes were subsequently transferred to local food banks.
