Saint John Harvest

March 9, 2019 @ 6:30 am - 9:00 am

What’s it all about?

St. John’s Presbyterian Church is a member of the Neighborhood Grocery Network of the San Francisco Food Bank. They distribute supplemental groceries to approximately 200 families and individuals every Saturday of the year. Since the opening of our program in October 2000, the pantry has distributed over 250,000 pounds of food. They serve clients in the 94118 and 94121 zip code. Food distribution begins at 7.30 am. Clients are asked to provide their name, proof of address (drivers license, utility bill, etc.), and signature.

What time do we need to arrive?

Please arrive at 6:30am, there is lots of work to do before we open our doors!

Where is it?

St John’s Presbyterian,

25 Lake Street, San Francisco, CA 94118

What will we be doing?

For the first hour or so we will be unloading boxes that have been delivered to the sidewalk in front of the church. The boxes need to be brought inside, unpacked and set up on tables. Clients arrive at 7:30am and come through the church in a line.  We distribute the groceries, each volunteer mans a station handing out one kind of food.

Is there an age limit?

There are no age restrictions, we welcome children

What should we wear?

Please wear warm, comfortable clothes and shoes. There is a lot of standing, and it is cool since we’re in and outside and keeping the doors open.
