Build a House in Mexico

It is with great excitement that Open invites you to join us in building a home for a deserving family in Tijuana, Mexico in May, 2020 through a great program called Homes of Hope Youth With A Mission (YWAM)! This event is for the entire family and children are warmly invited to join in all aspects of the home building weekend program. It will be hard work, but a fun and life changing experience.

When: May 7 through May 10, 2020
Where: Tijuana, Mexico
Itinerary: May 7- fly to San Diego and take shuttle to Tijuana’s Homes of Hope campus
May 8, 9th – build a 16X20 home for a deserving family
May 10th– leave Homes of Hope and fly back from San Diego
Cost: $455 adults and $355-children
What is included: Housing, food, safe environment, ground transportation, staff to help coordinate the success of the home building
What is not included: Flights from Oakland to San Diego
Is it safe? The gang violence in Mexico (and especially in Tijuana) has subsided over the past years. We always travel in groups and the YWAM staff has radios and cell phones at all times. We only build in “safe” areas and we are warmly welcomed by all of the neighbors in the community. YWAM has built over 5,000 homes in the Tijuana and Ensenada area in the past 25 years while hosting over 100,000 “builders” without any personal safety incident. This weekend promises to be very special so please don’t miss it!
