Grateful Gatherings is a fantastic program that believes that ‘families can thrive when they have a safe and comfortable home.’ When families transition from homelessness or crisis into a new home in the Bay Area, Grateful Gatherings receives donations to furnish the entire home.  

Open was given the task to get donations to completely furnish a home for a wonderful family including a hardworking mother and her two children.   Thank you to all who donated items and spent their day moving in the furniture and creating a beautiful home.  The reaction of the family when they saw their new space was unforgettable. 

The mother wrote us the following text in gratitude!  “I am still crying!!! God is so good to us and have carried us every step of the way!! This is day one of the next season to come. We are truly humbled and honored to have such an amazing community that knows the heart of God. I pray blessing over you all and the organization that there will be increase in all areas. That more families will have a not just a house or apartment but a home they can build their lives in. You have inspired me so much and I can’t wait to jump in and help.”
