200 MASKS
We have heard from several of our Open volunteers that they have been making and donating masks. WE LOVE THAT! You folks inspired us to create an OPEN challenge to collectively make 200 masks and donate them to our essential workers, driving the buses in our community. We have contacted Contra Costa County Connection who were thrilled to hear about our challenge and would LOVE to receive masks for their bus drivers. If you and your kiddos are interested and have some basic sewing experience, we would love your help to make this challenge a reality.
GOAL: 200 masks for Contra Costa County Connection bus drivers
WHEN: We are hoping to deliver 100 hundred by this Wednesday, April 22nd and the second 100 by the following Wednesday, April 29th.
WHERE: Jan and I will have a box on our doorsteps labeled OPEN MASKS and you can drop them in the box anytime. Jan’s address is 727 Old Jonas Hill Road, Lafayette and my address is 281 Lombardi Circle, Walnut Creek. If you are interested in making the masks, but don’t have the bandwidth to get the materials needed for the masks, please email us and OPEN is happy to purchase and deliver material to you. Materials are taking awhile to get, so if you can be creative (use t-shirt, sheets, etc), that is great!
MASK DESIGN IDEAS: Below are some links to some mask designs but feel free to make your own. The first one through CDC is the easiest (guess which one I am choosing?)
